Land pollution is the degradation of earth's land surfaces often caused by human activities and its misuse.
Solid Wastes: It is the product from human and animal activities that are useless, not wanted, or hazardous. Solid wastes typically may be classified as follows:
· Garbage: decomposable wastes from food
· Rubbish: non-decomposable wastes, either combustible (paper, wood, and cloth) or non-combustible (such as metal, glass, and ceramics)
· Ashes: residues of the combustion.
· Large wastes: demolition and construction debris
· Sewage-treatment solids: material retained on sewage-treatment screens, settled solids, and sludge
· Industrial wastes: such materials as chemicals, paints, and sand
· Mining wastes: slag heaps and coal refuse piles
· Agricultural wastes: farm animal manure and crop residues.
